The rhythms of Candomblé (Afro-Brazilian traditional worship) are those used to accompany the dances and songs of the Orixas (Gods - Archetypes - Forces of Nature) in a ritual, folk or art context.
In this workshop we will work the specific technique of each instrument used for the execution of the Nations Keto and Angola Candomble rhythms, using the oral (phonetic) and written (traditional and simplified) literacy.
Contents
1) Listen: different versions of the rhythms produced by traditional exponents of the genre.
2) Meaning: review on the symbolism of touch and their equivalent body (movements - dance).
3) Literacy traditional and simplified rhythms.
4) Technical work of each instrument individually: Atabaque (drums) grave - Rum, half - and sharp-Lé Rumpi and bell - GA.
5) Orchestration: ensemble group of different rhythms.
6) Songs: melody, phonetics and translation.
Percussion experience is required to participate in the workshop (ask about classes for beginners).
